It’s a new year and after all the festivities of having family and friends around you may have come to the conclusion that you can go another year with the kids all sharing a room due to lack of space or everyone eating separately because you don’t have a dining room. That’s where Sawmill Contracts comes in, we want to help you create a home that you are happy to show off all year round and meets your needs.

So let’s begin the conversation, how do you start working with us?

What is your home missing?

If you are at the stage of renovating, converting or extending then you know what your home is missing. It may be an extra bedroom, space to entertain family or an extra living room for the kids. Sawmill can help make any of these a reality and if you are not sure what is best for you we can help you figure that out. We always recommend a site visit whether you have drawings or not to allow you to get to know us better and for us to see the space you are working with. If you have drawings already we can have a conversation about what you really want and if not we can put you in touch with an excellent architect to help get the ball rolling.

The cost

It will never be the best part of this project but at some point we need to discuss cost. We offer a free no obligations quote which will give you a clear picture of the price and exactly where your money is going. We prefer to do this once you have all planning permission in place as there is less likely to be significant changes to the overall price as your drawings will likely not change after they have been approved. If however you do not have planning permission we can still give you an idea of the running cost to ensure it is something financially possible for you.

Popping round for a chat

We like to keep communication going from start to finish which is why we suggest carrying out another site visit once we have a completed quotation. This allows us to discuss important things such as:

  • Time frame for work
  • Our availability
  • Any adjustments we feel would be beneficial to the outcome
  • How we manage the project
  • When we will likely need to start buying items due to lead times

This will also provide you with another opportunity to ask any questions you may have in order to get a clearer picture of us as well as the project.

Sign on the dotted line

The last part is signing contracts! Once you are happy with everything we will sign contracts and begin the process of getting you your dream home.

Throughout the project there will be communication between yourself and the whole team to ensure you are happy with the progress. This will allow for discussion on any changes needing to be made or help stop any problems arising.

At this point there is nothing much left for you to do other than trust the process and count down the days until you are back in your dream home.

Are you ready to go on this journey? To get the ball rolling, get in touch for an initial discussion about your ideas. It might be just what you need to have your dream home in time for Christmas 2024!
